The OWAFD has its principle responsibilities to promote development of women’s    potentiality, gender equality and the strength of family institution by means of formulating    policies, measures and mechanisms. Also, it proposes to encourage and support public    and private units/organizations to implement policies/ programmes to develop women’s    potentiality, protection of women’s rights, equality and social justice and to promote stability    of family institution as to be mechanism to promote capacity building for women and men    who are to be invaluable human resource in the course of community and social    development.
